Down Glenelg way, where my friends and I sometimes like to have coffee, there's a little shop that has a sign I very much like stuck to its door. It looks like this:
Myself, I'd probably try taking it in an appreciative way. But some people might take it in a brusque way, a non-committal way, or, if it had taken some time to be given to them, a thoroughly annoyed way.
